Conservation Projects at Junquillal Beach.
There are many conservation projects and community efforts at Junquillal Beach. Among them we can find the Bandera Azul Ecólogica Program(Ecological Blue Flag) a goverment project that recognizes eco-friendly turist development, the WWF program for marine turtle conservation, the Nandamojo River conservation and other privite and community projects.

Junquillal's Leatherback Turtle Protection
WWF Central America works hard to save the critically endangered Pacific leatherback turtle in Junquillal Beach, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. This community-based conservation project concentrates on the social abatement of egg poaching and mitigation of climate change impacts to the nesting site.
